Romanian Poet Adrian Paunescu Dies Of Cardiac Arrest
Floreasca cardiology ward head Serban Bradisteanu said Friday morning Paunescu’s heart ceased its functions and the poet could not be resuscitated.
Paunescu was checked into hospital on October 26 over heart, kidney and liver problems. The poet suffered a cardiac arrest Tuesday night and was put on life support.
Bradisteanu said at the time Paunescu’s health condition was critical and added further medical examinations would determine what was to be done to help the patient.
Bradisteanu said Thursday morning that the patient’s condition was stationary.
Paunescu, a prolific poet and outspoken politician, is survived by three children.
