Romanian Officer, Bulgarian Citizen Indicted On Espionage Charges

Achim and Zikolov, along officers Petrisor Fragos, Baba Mihai Ovidiu, Mihai Fercheluc, Costica Lupu, Adrian Mandroiu and Costel Munteanu, have been indicted in the espionage file involving the First Division Infantry “Dacica”.

Zikolov admitted the charges when prosecutors presented him with the charge of continued espionage, said his lawyer, Alexandru Chiciu.

Achim and Zikolov were placed under preventive arrest on March 2, at the proposition of prosecutors with the organized crime and terrorism department, or DIICOT, who accused them of manipulating information that could have jeopardized Romania’s national security.
