Iraq Wants To Buy Weapons From Romania

Muhamad al Askari, spokesperson of Iraq’s Ministry of Defense, made the announcement in an interview for a private Iraqi TV station.   

Askari said that the Iraqi minister of defense together with other dignitaries intend to visit several European countries and obtain agreements regarding the purchase of weapons starting with the light artillery to howitzers, plans, helicopters and other type of military equipment.

Romania and Serbia are among the European countries to be visited by the Iraqi delegation.

The official said the Iraqi army is going through a period of administrative transformations regarding its logistics and the support it receives from multinational forces.
