The show will take place in the parking lot of the Pollus Center Mall in Cluj-Napoca.
Steve Harris, the band's bass player, said the band is eager to return Romania after their successful 2008 performance in capital Bucharest, on the "Somewehere Back In Time" tour. Iron Maiden's eponymous 1980 debut album contains a track titled "Transylvania".
This summer's performance is part of the European leg of "The Final Frontier" world tour, which promotes the album of the same name, the band's first studio release after a four-year hiatus. The album is set for release in June, as the tour kicks off in North America. European tour dates, scheduled until 2011, include several major festivals and stadium arena performances.
Over the course of their career, Iron Maiden have released 14 albums and sold nearly 70 million copies. The band, whose current line-up lists Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers and Nicko McBrain, has released such hits as "Run To the Hills", "The Number of the Beast", "The Trooper", "Flight of Icarus", "Where Eagles Dare".
The band's 2006 "A Matter Of Life and Death World Tour" included 28 sold-out concerts in Europe.
Tickets will be available online starting May 24, on www.servuscluj.ro.
Romanian football team CFR Cluj secured Saturday its position as the upcoming titleholder of the country's First League Championship.
