Israeli Investment In Romania Tops EUR2 Billion-Attaché

Israeli investments in Romania exceeded EUR2 billion, the bulk of which being directed to the real estate sector, according to Israeli Embassy commercial attaché Yifat Inbar.

Speaking at the ninth edition of the "Romanian-Israel High Tech Business Forum," the official said 20% of the Israeli exports to Romania target IT&C companies.

Inbar said over 5,000 companies with Israeli companies operated on the Romanian market at the end of 2007, of which over 1,000 were set up last year.

According to data released by the Romanian-Israeli Chamber of Commerce, bilateral trading reached some $400 million in 2007.
