Italian Prosecutors Demand Life Sentence In Mailat Trial – Media

Italian prosecutors requested Tuesday a life imprisonment verdict for Romanian citizen Romulus Nicolae Mailat, tried in Rome, accused of murdering Giovanna Reggiani, in October 2007, La Reppublica informed online.

The sentence will be announced sometime Wednesday.

Giovanna Reggiani, aged 47, was assaulted near the Tor de Quinto train station in Rome, on October 30, 2007, and her body was found abandoned in a ditch.
