Italian Ship Under Romanian Command Seized by Pirates Off Nigerian Coast
An Italian ship whose commander is Romania has been seized by pirates off the coast of Nigeria, at the border with Benin, Italian news agency ANSA reported, cited by the RaiNews24 website.

The seized ship, Rbd Anema e Core, belongs to Naples-based Rbd Armatori Spa Nava and was transporting gas.
The ship was seized 23 nautical miles (about 45 kilometers) from Cotonou (Benin), close to the Nigerian border, on Saturday night.
The ship's 23-strong crew consists of a Romanian commander, 20 Filipinos and two Italians, all reportedly taken hostage by the pirates.
