Five Dead, 23 Injured As Romanian Bus Collides With Truck In Hungary
The Romanian bus entered the opposite lane on the M70 highway in northwestern Hungary and collided head-on with an incoming truck, said local police chief Janos Tiborcz, cited by Hungarian news agency MTI.
The bus and truck drivers and three passengers on the bus were killed instantly. Twenty-three other passengers were injured in the accident. One passenger has life-threatening injuries, four others have been seriously injured, while 19 have suffered slight injuries. They have all been taken to the hospital in Nagykanizsa, Hungary.
The passengers that escaped unharmed were taken to the community center in Csornyefolde and authorities contacted the Romanian embassy in Budapest.
