Some 90% of the 890 employees at IAR Ghimbav were on technical unemployment in January and returned to work on February 2, but some of them are forced to return home because there aren’t any orders.
"On average, there will be some 220 to 240 employees going back on technical unemployment starting today," IAR Ghimbav union leader Suba Arpad told MEDIAFAX.
"At the end of the week we will meet with minister Videanu and, depending on his answer, we shall see if we need to restructure," Suba added.
The company is facing a dire lack of orders because the law approving the state budget is published in the Official Journal with delays, and IAR clients on the local market, mostly state-owned companies, cannot sign contracts because they do not know the budgets they will get.
