Romania’s New Econ Min Pledges To Keep The Govt Agenda On Track

Romania’s new economy minister, Ion Ariton, said Friday in his first press conference as minister, that he will continue the programs started by the Government, with emphasis placed on “getting over this difficult period” of economic crisis.

„I will continue the program you and the Government started. The priority is getting over this difficult economic period,” Ariton said in the press conference held together with former economy minister Adriean Videanu.

During the conference, Videanu introduced Ariton and said he is convinced the new minister will have notable success in helping the Government achieve its goals of economic relaunch.

Ariton replaced Videanu as economy minister after the latter gave up his position and returned to his activity as vice-president of the Democratic Liberal Party.
