“Fulfilling the already existent commitments regarding gas supply would be the normal course of action. Romania should not have to suffer from the dispute between Ukraine and Russia,” Diaconescu said in a statement of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Minister Ogryzko assured Diaconescu of the fact that Romania won’t suffer consequences of this situation. He said he wants Romania’s support for having a European mission sent to Kiev to assess the problems of gas delivery, the statement read.

The foreign affairs ministers of Romania and Ukraine agreed to meet in January.
