Speaking on the public radio station, Boc said it would be strange for MPs to collect pensions that reach up to 80% of the salary value, while citizens are asked to accept an austere regime.

In January, Boc said the executive would call for the amendment of the existing law regulating MPs pensions in a draft law to be filed in parliament.

Boc urged for the parliament’s cooperation, saying the MPs should be the ones to tighten their belts a few notches.
