Romanian, Moldovan Presidents Discuss Recent Agreements

According to the Chisinau Government, „the two officials briefly exchanged opinions on the situation in the two countries, following the working visit recently made by Filat in Bucharest”.

„Vlad Filat and Traian Basescu discussed the unfolding of the agreements concluded during the visit, especially the hurried application of the Agreement on small border traffic. The prime minister told the Romanian president that, in the Moldovan government meeting held on November 18, a decision was enacted to complete the relevant internal procedures,” the Chisinau Government said.

„We will be grateful if the Romanian side completes internal procedures as well, since this would make possible the complete operative application of the document,” Filat said.

Another topic of conversation was the opening of Romanian consular office in Cahul and Balti, and a Moldovan consular office in Iasi.

The two officials agreed on a speedy opening of the Radauti-Lipcani bridge.
