More Than Half Of Romanians Saved Money In 2010 – Survey

„Over 53% of the respondents managed to save money in 2010, of which 43% make monthly savings of around RON200, while approximately 23% of them save only when they can,” Raiffeisen Banca pentru Locuinte said in a statement Tuesday.

Moreover, 53% of the people saving money prefer cash, 32% of them save money in their current accounts, 13% made term bank deposits in lei or foreign currencies, while 12% of them invest their savings in private pensions or life insurance policies.

On the other hand, 40% of the respondents said they will save less money in the next 12 months, while 35% of them will save approximately the same amounts.

The survey was conducted in September and October 2010 and targeted 1,000 people, both men and women, with incomes exceeding RON500/person and aged between 20 and 55.
