Leu Touches 4.5729 Vs Euro, Record Low Since October 2012

The Romanian leu lost ground against the euro by midday Thursday and the central bank set the leu’s reference rate versus the euro at 4.5729 units, the lowest level since October 24, 2012.

After record-lows reached in 2012, when the leu fell beyond the 4.6-unit mark against the euro, the national currency has stayed in a range of 4.35 to 4.55 versus the euro.

In October 2012, the Romanian leu touched 4.5740 units against the euro.
