Romanian Senate Raises Its Budget For 2011 By 30%

The Romanian Senate adopted Tuesday with 86 votes in favor, two against and two abstentions its budget for 2011, which amounts to 127,900,000 lei (EUR1=RON4.2848), up about 30% compared to its budget for this year.

The Senate’s budget was approved Monday by the institution’s standing office and the money will be allotted from the state budget.

Extra RON26 million were approved for the organization of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in October 2011.

Of the RON128 million, RON68,425,000 will be used for staff expenses, of which RON37 million will go to the salary fund.

About RON35 million will be used for goods and services, about RON16 million for trips, RON3,678,00 for trips abroad and RON3,682,000 for protocol spending.

About RON20 million will be used for capital expenses, of which RON11,700,000 represent transport spending.
