Romanian Public Employees Get To Keep Salary Bonuses – Unionists
According to Vasile Lincu, president of the “Pro Lex” Customs and Police Officers Trade Union, ministry officials and the unionists reached an agreement with respect to articles 6, 7 and 20 of the draft ordinance aimed at cutting salary rights in the public sector.
“Paragraph 2 of article 20 was eliminated, therefore credit ordinators will not be able to take measures to cut spending (…),” Lincu said.
He said the only point of disagreement between unionists and ministry officials was the article on leadership indemnity.
“This bonus will be granted as well, but we have not decided its value yet,” Lincu said.
Some 4,000 unionists in the public sector protested against diminished salary rights in front of prefectures across the country on Monday, threatening with full-fledged actions if negotiations with the Labor Ministry were to fail again.
