Romania’s August Net Salary Dn 3% MM To RON1,348

The gross average salary was at RON1,845, down 2.9% compared with July.

The salary decrease was due to the restricting of operations, and holiday or loyalty bonuses granted to employees in the previous month, among others.

Employees in the coke and crude oil products industry saw the biggest average net salaries of RON3,370, while the clothing industry employees were at the opposite pole with RON786.

August net average salary in agriculture was down 3.1% on the month to RON985, while the employees in the energy sector saw a 3.6% salary decrease on the month in August, to RON2,490.

Net salaries in industry averaged RON1,304 in August, down 3.1% from July.

The average net salary in August was up 5.6% compared with the same month of 2008.
