Liberal Official Says President Is Party’s Worst Enemy

“Let us not forget that this man (president Basescu) whom we helped to become Romania’s president, tried to completely destroy the party,” the official said. Nicolaescu said that Basescu is currently PNL’s worst enemy, someone not even the opposition can compare to.

Nicolaescu asked that liberal members present people with the real facts. “Reality does not always appear as the president or other officials present it. No one harms Romanian more nowadays than our own president.”

Nicolaescu said that Romania’s feeble international relations are caused by the president’s inability to fulfill his duties.

 The official concluded by saying that the electoral campaign this year will be tough, and that the president will do all in his power to try to bring PNL down.
