Romanian Financial Guard To Probe Youth Day Organizers – Youth Minister

Romanian youth minister Monica Iacob Ridzi said Wednesday before the Parliament inquiry committee that she has asked the Financial Guard to check the two companies which organized the Youth Day festivities.

Ridzi said the companies were also ordered to provide the list of their subcontractors for the event on May 2.

Commission president Alina Gorghiu said the Financial Guard has confirmed it is working on the report.

Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania deputy Petru Lakatos said the documents submitted by the Youth Ministry for investigation do not include the methodology through which leisure, cultural and sports services are purchased.

Ridzi assured the commission that she will ask that the methodology be forwarded as soon as she leaves for the Government meeting at 3 p.m.
