However, Popescu will continue to act in the bank’s board for another three months, the notice interval stated in his term contract, said Oana Nuta, marketing and PR manager at EximBank.

In February 2009, the bank’s majority shareholder, privatization authority AVAS, replaced six of the seven managing board members at EximBank, including the institution’s president.

Thus, AVAS replaced former bank president Carmen Radu, with Ionut Costea, which was president of Emporiki Bank Romania since fall 2008.

EximBank’s managing board is formed of one president, two vice-presidents (Luminita Manolache and Paul Ichim) and four non-executive directors–Liviu Voinea, Gheorghe Ionescu, Emilian Badica and Ionut Popescu.
