Romania April Jobless Rate Falls Slightly To 8.07%
The country’s employment agency ANOFM said the total number of jobless people reached 738,187 in April.
In March, Romania’s unemployment hit the highest rate in the past seven years, at 8.36%.
In April 2009, the unemployment rate was at 5.7%.
Romanian jobless rate is expected to rise further in 2010, particularly in light of the government’s planned cuts in the public sector to help lowering the budget deficit to 6.8% of the gross domestic product, versus 7.4% of GDP a year before.
