“(Education) Minister Ecaterina Andronescu said the education system will receive this percentage. For now, we have no reason to doubt the ministry regarding its support,” said Gheorghe Isvorau, president of “Spiru Haret” Federation.

Aurel Cornea, president of the Federation of Free Unions in the Education, said in turn that unionists are confident the authorities will observe the Law 221 granting teachers a 50% salary raise.

If not, trade unions will consider whether they will resume protests, Cornea mentioned.

Vice-president of “Alma Mater” Federation, Anton Hadar, said the Federation considers protest actions unless the salary hike comes into force, and that the protests might progress to a full-fledged strike.
