Romania April New Car Registrations +32% On Month, -44% On Year

In March, new car registrations were at 3,793 units, according to the ministry’s license and car registration division.

Overall new auto registrations – including commercial vehicles, trailers and special purpose vehicles – reached 6,803 units in April, down 34.7% on the year.

Dacia, made locally by French Renault’s unit Automobile Dacia, was the best-traded brand on the local new cars market with 1,072 units in April, followed by Volkswagen with 737 units and Skoda with 485 units.

In 2010, new car registrations in Romania fell 18.5% on the year to 94,541 units.
