Romanian Actress Rodica Tapalaga Dead At 71

Her son, Barbu Popescu, said the actress was suffering from a number of illnesses, the most severe of which was collagenosis.

Rodica Tapalaga was born on January 12, 1939 in Dorohoi, Botosani County, northern Romania. She graduated from the Bucharest Institute of Theater and Cinema in 1959, having made her film debut in the 1958 comedy „Alo?… ati gresit numarul!” („Hello?… Wrong Number!”).

She performed for a number of theaters, including the Craiova National Theater and Bucharest’s Nottara Theater and Little Theater. Since 1981, she had worked for the „Lucia Sturdza Bulandra” Theater in Bucharest.
