Arabian Businessman Confirms Interest In FC Rapid Bucharest

“If George Copos (Rapid’s owner – e.n.) ever decides to sell Rapid, I hope he will consider us,” Taher said.

 

He said Griro signed an advertising contract with Rapid, through which the club is to receive EUR200,000 by the end of the current championship edition. The contract might be extended for another 5 years, Taher said.

 

Rapid will get EUR1 million if the contract is prolonged, Taher mentioned.

 

On Monday, Romanian television channel Realitatea TV reported that Copos allegedly signed a memo with Griro SA regarding the sale of an 80% stake in the club.

 

Both Taher and Copos firmly denied the allegations.
