Madonna Arrives At Concert Location In Bucharest

The singer left the hotel around 16:30 local time, and several minutes later she arrived at the stage in Izvor Park. The artist was wearing a white jumpsuit, white baseball cap and sunglasses.

Madonna arrived in Bucharest Tuesday evening with a private jet, which landed on the Baneasa Airport. From there, Madonna and her staff left in three armored vans, straight to the Radisson SAS hotel in Bucharest, where she was lodged and where she remained until Wednesday afternoon. Madonna is accompanied by her two girls - Lourdes and Mercy -, who played around the hotel pool.

According to Chris Lamb, Madonna’s production manager, with whom the star has been working for 23 years, she will attend the sound checks before the show.

The concert stage arrived from Gotheburg and was raised in five days, over a surface of some 5,000 square meters. The impressive construction is made of two modules, has a height of 35 meters, a depth of 30 meters and a width of up to 60 meters, extensions included.

The technical equipment needed for the layout of the concert area weighs some 5,000 tons: stage, stands, backstage area, VIP area. The impressive lights and sound show – 1,000 KW lights, 2,000 KW lasers, 600 KW sound – will be supported by 160 speakers, 120 sqm of vide screens, 4 delay towers some 20 m in height and the equipment is connected using 20,000 m of electric cable. The show required 4 cranes, 12 forklifts and 30 ATVs, over 6,000 meters of fence, 500 meters of bar and 1,000 m of panic barriers.

Extended after the success seen in 2008, the "Sticky & Sweet Tour" is considered the best selling tour of a solo artist in history, as last year it gathered audiences of a total 2.3 million people in 58 cities and registered record ticket sales worldwide.
