Oprescu was the first of the candidates to cast his ballot this morning and commented he always liked to be the first at everything.
„I voted for change. I voted so that Romania could have its first ever independent president,” Oprescu said, adding he also voted in the referendum on downsizing Parliament.
About 18 million eligible voters are expected to cast ballots Sunday to elect a new president and say whether they want the country’s Parliament downsized to a single chamber and a maximum 300 lawmakers instead of the current 471. Polls close at GMT1900.
