Man Dies in Iasi Apartment Block Fire

According to the Iasi Emergency Services Inspectorate (ISU), firefighters were alerted around 17.00 local time about a fire at an apartment block in the city.

ISU representatives said that the fire engulfed the top floor and the building’s roof, with flames visible outside.

One person, a man aged approximately 30, was trapped in the blaze. He was found carbonized by firefighters, after they extinguished the fire. No other victims were reported, as the other residents escaped the building after smoke started to spread.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
