Romanian Econ Min: Russian Gas Imports Resume As Of Wed
"During this morning (Wednesday – e. n.), gas imports from Russia have been resumed, and Romania is receiveing three million cubic meters a day," Videanu said.
Out of the total amount, 1.4 million cubic meters are delivered through Mediesu Aurit import station, in the northwestern part of the country, and 1.6 million cubic meters are supplied through Isaccea import station, in southeastern Romania.
The operations to resume the gas transit were started at Isaccea and Mediesul Aurit gas import stations Tuesday afternoon.
Romania’s gas imports from Russia were halted early January, following Russian natural gas monopoly Gazprom decision to stop all gas deliveries to Europe via Ukraine, on disputes with the latter on gas prices.
On Monday, Russia and Ukraine inked an agreement, and gas deliveries were resumed as of Tuesday.
