„Another amendment accepted by the Government targets the setting up of a committee that will include ministry experts and a representative of each national union confederation,” the Government spokesperson, Ioana Muntean, said Sunday at the end of the government meeting, which targeted all amendments proposed to the unitary pay law.
Muntean pointed out that the Government „reinforced” once again the principle of the unitary pay law stipulating that gross wages in the public sector will not be cut.
Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc met Saturday with union leaders for talks on the draft unitary pay law in the public sector. The two parties decided on the setting up of an inter-ministry committee to also include unionists, which will work on further amendments to the law until June 30, 2010.
