Romanian Maid Arrested For Murder In Rome

A Romanian immigrant woman was arrested by Italian authorities after assaulting and murdering an 80-year-old woman for whom she had been working as house cleaner for a few days. The incident occurred in Albano Laziale, a town near Rome.

The 39-year-old woman was arrested Monday night by Carabinieri in Castel Gandolfo, a town located south of Rome, Andkronos reported online.
 
According to investigators, the victim was attacked because of a verbal dispute she had with the house cleaner, and the injuries were fatal.
 
La Repubblica reports that, after assaulting the old lady, the maid called the victim’s son, who called the ambulance. Doctors at the hospital where the victim was taken acknowledged the death. The Romanian maid is held at the Rebibbia penitentiary in Rome.
