New Romanian Govt Nearly Complete, Pact Completion Expected Sunday

The leader of the Romanian democrat liberals, Emil Boc, announced Saturday evening, after a new round of negotiations with the social democrats, that the Partnership for Romania will be between PDL and PSD, in the government, while UDMR would take state secretary positions.

"We are close to completing the Partnership for Romania between (the democrat liberals) and (the social democrats), and there are chances the partnership will be signed tomorrow," Boc said.

He added the Democratic Union of Magyars in Romania will be represented on a state secretary level within the new Executive.
 
The democrat liberal leader said the two parties convened on the 25 principles at the base of the partnership. According to Boc, the primary goal was government stability, a strong government for Romania, supported by a parliament majority and instated on December 22.
 
The objectives mentioned in the document include the maintaining of existing jobs, of purchase power, the continuation of actions for independent justice and the maintaining of the flat tax with the protection of low income people.
