Asked to comment on the 6,000 amendments brought by lawmakers, Vladescu said none of the amendments that entail additional budget expenses will pass. Regarding the about 200 amendments brought by democrat liberals, the minister said he had no talks on these amendments.

„Each and every amendment will be analyzed. (…) In my opinion, the amendments that lead to additional budget expenses will not pass,” Vladescu said, adding he will resign if social security contributions are lowered or pensions are increased.

This year’s state budget is currently under debates by the Parliament’s committees for budget and finance until January 10 and a vote on the budget will be held on january 11, in a plenary meeting.

Vladescu said he will participate in all the meetings of the budget committees.

The head of the budget-finance committee, social democrat Viorel Stefan, told MEDIAFAX Friday he met with the leaders of the Social Democratic Party and they agreed the party is determined to go ahead with the amendments it brough to the state and social security budgets.
