Bucharest Mayor Hopes To Book U2 For September Concert

Oprescu said there are still logistical issues to be solved, but the concert may take place in September or October.

In January, city official Bogdan Hreapca said Bucharest will be host to a concert attended by some 60,000 people in September. This concert would feature U2 or another of the world’s top bands.

Later, Oprescu said the new „Lia Manoliu” National Stadium should be completed by the summer. A football match between Romania and Argentina will be the first major event to take place on the stadium, in August.
