Microsoft Romania Plans “Aggressive Growth” For ’10

"According to our estimations, if Romania's GDP grows by 1%, then the local IT segment will grow by 10%," Tatomir said.

He added the local branch of Microsoft registered in December 2009, compared to the same month of 2008, the first annual increase, and the goal is an "aggressive growth" until the end of June, when the company's fiscal year concludes.

"In July, August and September, Microsoft Romania registered a strong decrease, while in December it has returned to growth. In the second half of the Microsoft fiscal year (January - June 2010) our goal is an aggressive growth, and I believe our results will be above the average growth seen by the American company in this part of Europe," Tatomir said.

Asked about the evolution of Windows 7 license sales, Tatomir said he anticipates that the Windows 7 operating system, which was launched in October 2009, will get an 18-19% market share at the end of June 2010.

American giant Microsoft is the largest software producer in the world.
