Hydrologists Issue Code Orange Flood Warning For Rivers In NE Romania

The code orange for the rivers Prut and Crasna will still be in effect, hydrologists said.

The Environment Ministry’s operations center for emergency situations sent the warning Friday morning to the County Halls of Bacau, Botosani, Galati, Harghita, Iasi, Satu-Mare, Vaslui (code orange) and Bacau, Bistrita, Buzau, Cluj, Brasov, Covasna, Harghita, Maramures, Mures, Neamt, Prahova, Suceava, Timis and Vrancea (code yellow), says a ministry press release.

Wednesday night, authorities evacuated 24 people and more than 110 animals from the village of Baranca, Botosani County, located in a segment of the Prut river with a very high risk of flooding.
