Most Romanians Believe Country Is On Wrong Path, Elections Are Rigged – Survey

Four in five Romanians believe elections in their country are rigged and the country is heading into the wrong direction, according to a survey conducted by sociological research company CCSB and ordered by NGO “Pro Democratia.”

According to the survey, 80% respondents believe elections are rigged, 10% said the opposite, while 10% answered „I don’t know/No answer.”

Of those questioned, 60% said they agree with making voting mandatory in Romania, while 36% disagree.

Some 65% of respondents disagree with reducing the voting age to 16, while 30% agree.

Asked whether Romania is currently on the right or wrong path, 80% of respondents said the country is on the wrong path and 12% said Romania is on the right path.

The study was conducted between September 23 and 28 by CCSB on a sample of 1,017 people, with an error margin of +/- 3.1%
