„There is an administrative letter requesting information, a preliminary stage before an infringement procedure,” Boc told reporters.

Earlier Wednesday, Finance Ministry secretary of state Gheorghe Gherghina told the parliament’s budget-finance committee that infringement procedures have been initiated against Romania, because of the ordinance.

In October, the European Commission sent local authorities a letter requesting clarification on the way a European directive is transposed into Romanian legislation through Emergency Ordinance 50, after receiving multiple complaints on the transposition of Directive 84/2008 into local legislation.
