Romanian Tourism Min Pleads For Complete Privatization Of Tourism, Better Services
„At the Romanian Tourism Fair I saw that Bulgarians have lower prices compared to those applied in Romania. We are somewhere around Greece and Turkey when it comes to prices, but the services offered cannot be compared. Here, the services provided fail to meet the quality standards applied in the other two countries, despite similar prices,” Udrea said in Romanian seaside resort Costinesti, adding that Romanian hotel owners should understand that they would gain more by applying lower prices and extending the season.
Udrea continued saying that all tourism units still owned by the state should be privatized, since this could bring new investors on this segment.
„It is time for the state to sell everything it owns on this segment, anything that can be sold, because it seems our offers are not sufficiently attractive for the real investors in tourism, not the ones who kept buying for real estate business,” Udrea said.
Also, Udrea said she is displeased with the fact that there are many illegal constructions in the seaside resorts, and she intends to take action to tear down these buildings, namely summon the owners to remove the illegal constructions and enter legality.
