Mild Earthquake Hits Eastern Romania

An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale hit on Friday, at 18.14 local time, Romania’s central region of Vrancea, said Gheorghe Marmureanu, the head of the National Institute for Earth Physics.

The earthquake could not be felt in Romania’s capital city Bucharest.
 
The epicentre of the earthquake was located at a depth of 25 meters. The effects of the earthquake were felt only in the Vrancea area.
