Romanian President Says Govt Likely To Seek Conf Vote To Pass Public Wage Law

„I strongly doubt the wage law can go through Parliament because of all the blockages it will encounter there so, most likely, like for the education law and other reforms, the Government will seek a confidence vote,” Basescu told Pro TV in an interview Sunday.

Prime Minister Emil Boc said Friday the final form of the unitary pay law is still being negotiated but it sets a raise in the minimum wage and will ensure a recovery of pay cuts imposed this summer throughout the public sector.

Romania’s ruling coalition decided earlier this week the Cabinet is to seek a confidence vote in Parliament to pass the education reform and the unitary salary law, people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX.
