Border police found the merchandize in a truck, whose load didn’t have the right papers. The truck driver, a 35 year-old Bulgarian, was transporting merchandise from Pitesti, southern Romania, to the Netherlands.

"Transport papers indicated the truck was transporting bags and empty boxes, but check-ups revealed both the bags and the boxes were filled with famous brand perfumes, possibly counterfeit," said Mihaela Les, spokesperson for the local border police inspectorate.

The driver, who denied any wrongdoing and said he didn’t know about the perfume he was transporting, has been detained for investigations.
