In view of resuming rubber production, Carom will undergo several assessments in terms of installations, costs needed to resume production and demand for synthetic rubber on foreign markets, said Veronica Neicu, general manager of Bucharest-based Energy Bio Chemicals, which bought Carom.

Neicu said Energy Bio Chemicals is running several investment projects in Onesti, eastern Romania.

"The biodiesel plant, to be built in 2009, requires investments of nearly EUR20 million,” Neicu said.
