"Dacia is considering lowering car prices, from its profit margin. This reduction, along the scrap bonus, could translate into a client discount of about EUR1,700-2,000 for a Dacia model that costs EUR10,000," Stroe explained.

He added that lowering car prices by “a few hundred euros” isn’t enough to stimulate demand enough to correlate it to the output the carmaker has planned.

Stroe also said people are more interested in the monthly installment they have to pay than the car’s final price, and more expensive loans, harder access to financing and uncertainties related to the car tax have put Dacia’s potential clients on stand-by.
