Romania's Government plans to use a significant part of EU funds to support the building thermal rehabilitation program and will ask the authorities involved to better publicize the incentives for homeowners who begin such projects, said Prime Minister Emil Boc.

„Right now we have government guarantees worth EUR50 million and very few have been used,” said Boc in a meeting with officials of the National SME Loan Guarantee Fund, which provides guarantees for this program.

The prime minister mentioned that homeowners can take loans for five years, guaranteed by the state, with subsidized interest for thermal rehabilitation and may be exempt from paying property taxes for seven years.
