Monica Anisie: I assure the pupils that at this moment we do not consider freezing the school year

"I want to assure pupils, students, teachers and parents that at this time we do not consider freezing the school year or postponing one year the exams. The specialists at the Ministry of Education and Research work on several scenarios, looking closely at what is happening within the education systems of the European Union states. The Ministry of Education is concerned with how students continue their home learning and the goal of the Ministry is that none of the pupils, students or teachers suffer", said minister Anisie.

Regarding the students who have to take the National Assessment and the National Baccalaureate exam or the students who have to take the final exams, Monica Anisie says that the Ministry will present the possible options it takes into account in the situation the state of emergency prolongs.

"We also specify that all scenarios will be debated with all educational actors (students' representatives, students, parents, unions and representatives of the National Council of Rectors), and the decision will be taken by mutual agreement. It is important to note that the scenarios thought by the ministry experts will be applied depending on the evolution of the crisis caused by coronavirus in Romania and in accordance with the decisions of the National Committee for Special Emergency Situations", Anisie said.
