Constanta County Public Health Department deputy director Mihaela Dinisov said the patient is a man who was also suffering from pneumonia and obesity and was initially admmitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic.
When his condition started worsening, the man was taken to the Emergency Clinic, where he died Monday morning.
This is the first AH1N1 virus fatality seen in Constanta county.
Romania has so far registered 14 deaths following infections with the AH1N1 virus. All patients who died also had other illnesses.
