Romania’s Annual Inflation Rate Hits 4% in December

For the full year, the annual inflation rate stood at 3.8%, in line with the central bank’s forecast.

Food prices grew 5.08% in December compared with December 2018, prices of non-food items were 3.31% higher, and service prices grew 4.16%.

Compared with November, food prices were 0.84% higher in December, prices of non-food items were 0.28% higher, and service prices were 0.12% higher.

In 2019 compared with 2018, food prices grew 4.60%, prices of non-food items grew 3.24%, and service prices grew 3.87%, the data showed.
