NATO Summit Mercedes Light Limos To Be Sold In Romania

Mercedes-Benz Romaniamade available69 cars for the transportation of dignitaries attending the summit. The Mercedes-Benz fleet is formed of new 37 S-Guard armored units and two E-Guard armored units, as well as 30 S 500 4M L non-armored units.

The latter ones, all black, will be sold in the Mercedes-Benz Romania dealer network, with a price cut depending on the mileage accumulated these days, estimated by Mercedes-Benz Romania at 500-1000 kilometers.

Such a limo comes with the 7G-TRONIC system (automated 7 speed gearbox), sensors for the measuring of tire pressure, television set and navigation system.

Armored S-Guard cars can resist assault with pistol rounds, machine gun rounds and hand grenades.

Additional protection elements include the system called "run-flat" (which consists of tires capable of running on flat), airtight fuel tank, double break disks, larger for quicker stops in case of need, a ventilation system with automated recirculation that detects the presence of dangerous gasses and automatically blocks the external air intake. The fresh air is introduced from a tank found on board, creating mild pressure in the cabin, which prevents the dangerous gas from entering the vehicle.

S-Guard cars have an automated fire safety system (of extinguishment), with 12 nozzles and two tanks of extinguishing agent, pneumatic emergency system for window control, independent from the electric system of the car and a video camera that monitors the perimeter behind the car.

The S600 Guard is propelled by a 5.5 liter gasoline engine, which develops 517 horse power and 830 Nm torque.

For the summit, Ford supplies an additional 400 cars.
